The program started with a powerful prayer, praise and worship and followed by an open forum on the lessons prior to this event on the Foundations of our Faith.
A very important question was raised by Sis. Eden Roasa regarding the certainty of one’s salvation. Majority of the youth and few of the adults honestly admitted and responded that they were unsure and regard this as a concern on their minds. On this predicament, Pastor Shane Torres saw the need to proceed to the preaching of the word of God on Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Eventually, the Holy Spirit became very evident in our midst and baptized and in-filled adults, teens and children alike. The anointing and the supernatural working of the Holy Spirit touched, refreshed and empowered everyone at ROLIM. Yes, the Holy Spirit came down and assured each and everyone not only of our salvation but the power of the Holy Spirit in us. “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children”- Romans 8:16.
The Praise Team embarked on a marathon Praise and Worship course under the DVD curriculum of the ISOM Program. Pastor Gary Pondang prepared a comprehensive form of the course and led the discussion portion on Praise and Worship.
The course opened the eyes of the praise team on the proper way to worship God. The power of music was also discussed. Many biblical accounts confirmed that music is so powerful; it honors and enthrones God. And it is God who instructed the people to use musical instruments whether stringed or air instrument to praise and worship Him. The praises of His people inhabits His throne. The “tehilla” – new songs sang to God, like an impromptu song rendered to God is what God really wants and not just only the mechanical copied and rehearsed songs. Worship is not emotion or actuations only but it is the love expressed to God through music and songs.
Everybody learned that wherever you are and whatever you are doing, you could practice the “tehilla”, thereby inviting the Holy Spirit’s presence anywhere and thus binding evil spirits. Much has been told about actions like raising up our hands, dancing, etc., but the truth is worship is more than that, it is love for God.
Pastor Shane envisions that not only the few but the whole congregation of ROLIM will learn and understand the proper way to worship God and experience the baptism in the Holy Spirit. |
